About NMCS
North Mobile Christian School (NMCS) is a private school, consisting of students in K3 - 7th grade. We also house an early childhood learning center for infants - K2. The school began at First Baptist Church in Chickasaw, Alabama in 1978 with just fourteen students. Presently the school has an enrollment of approximately 240 students in K2 - 7th grade. In 2002, the Alabama Independent Association (AISA) granted NMCS its initial accreditation and during the 2005-2006 school year, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accredited the school. North Mobile Christian School serves families from all over Mobile County including Saraland, Eight Mile, Semmes, Chickasaw, Citronelle, Satsuma, and several other municipalities.
Our school is a ministry of Redemption Church in Saraland, AL and is located on the Redemption campus. Our academic school calendar consists of 175 school days for students and 180 days for teachers. Students may be dropped off as early as 6:30 AM for morning care, however the school day officially begins for students at 8 AM and dismisses at 3 PM for 1st grade and up, or 2:40 PM for K5 and lower. We offer after school care for students from 3 - 6 PM for an additional fee.
Students in K3 - K5 use Abeka curriculum. Students in first through 7th grade follow the Alabama academic standards or Alabama Course of Study. Teachers also teach Bible every day and incorporate a biblical worldview in all subject areas. The elementary and middle school students use a combination of McGraw Hill, Abeka, and Purposeful Design curriculum for their core subject areas.
Every student has access to technology tools throughout the school day. Our students are given the opportunity daily to use school-issued ipads and chrome books to supplement their learning. Teachers utilize a variety of technology tools during instruction including document cameras, online resources, and large Sharp brand interactive boards.
